Trulo Corporation ("Trulo") is committed to building an inclusive marketplace where all qualified businesses can access commercial space regardless of the identity of their owners or operators. This Community Standards and Anti-Discrimination Policy ("Policy") applies to all Hosts, Tenants, and users of the Trulo Platform at jointrulo.com.
Hosts may not refuse, revoke, or condition a Booking, or discriminate in the terms of a Commercial License Agreement, on the basis of:
– Race, color, or ethnicity
– National origin or ancestry
– Religion or creed
– Sex, gender, gender identity, or gender expression
– Sexual orientation
– Age
– Disability (physical or mental)
– Marital or familial status
– Veteran or military status
– Source of income or source of funding
– Immigration or citizenship status
– Genetic information
– Any other characteristic protected by federal law, Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 151B), or applicable Boston municipal ordinance
Tenants may not engage in discriminatory, harassing, or threatening behavior toward Hosts, their agents, or other occupants of shared commercial properties.
Hosts may apply legitimate, non-discriminatory business criteria when evaluating inquiries, including but not limited to:
– Nature of the proposed business use (e.g., compatibility with zoning, existing tenants, or building rules)
– Creditworthiness or financial qualification verified through the Platform
– Insurance requirements and compliance with the Host Listing Agreement
– Compliance with applicable licensing, permitting, and regulatory requirements
These criteria must be applied consistently to all prospective Tenants.
If you believe you have experienced discrimination on the Trulo Platform, you may report it by:
– Emailing contact@jointrulo.com with the subject line "Discrimination Report"
– Including: your name, the listing or booking involved, a description of the incident, and any supporting evidence
Trulo will acknowledge discrimination reports within two (2) business days and investigate within ten (10) business days. Reports are treated confidentially to the extent permitted by law.
Violations of this Policy may result in:
– Warning with required corrective action
– Suspension of listing or account
– Permanent removal from the Platform
– Reporting to applicable government agencies (including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination under M.G.L. c. 151B)
Trulo's determination of a Policy violation is made at Trulo's sole discretion, subject to the dispute resolution procedures in the Terms of Service.
This Policy is adopted in compliance with:
– Title II and Title III of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. § 2000a et seq.)
– Americans with Disabilities Act, Title III (42 U.S.C. § 12181 et seq.)
– Massachusetts Anti-Discrimination Law (M.G.L. c. 151B)
– Boston Fair Housing and Equal Rights ordinances
– Equal Credit Opportunity Act (15 U.S.C. § 1691) to the extent applicable to commercial transactions
Nothing in this Policy limits or waives any rights or protections available under applicable federal, state, or local law.
